----- Original Message ----- MNet will have a live to air Audio Description test movie called GREEN

LANTERN which will be available on MNET HD (this is channel 170) this Sunday
night (26 August) at 8pm. Audio Description is only available if the user
has an HD decoder. The SA National Council for the Blind would like to urge
all visually impaired persons with access to MNet HD to make use of the
opportunity and to provide information on the experience. This is a first in
SA, but internal testing on MNet's side appears positive.

Visually impaired viewers may access the Audio Descriptive Tracks for the
movie on Sunday night by following the following prompts. Please may we
kindly ask you to include this detail in all the various websites,
newsletters, forums you may have that will reach as many visually impaired
viewers as possible.

. The Visually Impaired viewer will be able to access these tracks
by:

o Tuning in to Mnet HD (Channel 170) on Sunday night at 8pm

o Press the LANGUAGE button (which is the second button down on the
top right of the remote)

o The Language Pop-up appears

o The viewer then needs to scroll down 3 times (1. English - Family,
2. English - Original, 3. Surround Sound, 4. ADT) to the last option which
will say Language 4 of 4 (this is the Audio Descriptive Tracks)

o Select the OK button

o The viewer will then be able to watch/listen to the movie with
these audio descriptive tracks.

o Once the movie ends there will be complete silence(as the next
program will not contain the ADT)

o The viewer will then have to press the LANGUAGE button once more
and click up to select one of the other options (1. English - Family for
example) in order to hear the regular audio viewing.

The SA National Council for the Blind believes that the step taken by MNet
is a step in the right direction towards full inclusion and accessibility
for all South Africans. We applaud MNet for taking into consideration the
challenges and needs of visually impaired users.
