What about submission port 587 and set the security features to "Never" ihn both sending and receiving mail? Does that work?

It's strange, in my situation, I must use my smtp server from my dsl provider in Eudora as the relay, but if I use pm-mail, I don't. Something in Eudora prevents me from using the smtp server where I get my mail from, calweb.com. in Eudora where it does not using pm-mail. I've not tried yet using Thunderbird, which I guess our beloved Eudora is going to change into, for this situation. I've tried every conceivable combination, even the recommended smtp port number for calweb.com in Eudora. As I say, using pm-mail the smtp server accepts mail readily in pm-mail. :) Strange!

You should be able to receive if employers pop3 is on incoming and earthlink is on out going. If that don't work call your provider and see if they allow this type of action. Because DSL and cable are both closed networks that work on the Internet. Witch means everything you get and send goes threw them. So if they use different ports to reach you. That would make things hard to work looking for usual ports. When trying to work around provider.

Hello, list,

I've had no trouble for years using Eudora for my personal mail using DSL through Earthlink. But, now I've set up a second launching of Eudora to use for an employer's email account I'm using through his ISP.

Incoming is working fine. However, I cannot get outgoing mail to work whether using the new email address's pop3 server or my Earthlink pop3 server.
When sending using Earthlink I get an error of
Resolving address for smtp.auth.earthlink.net
Error getting network address for smtp.auth.earthlink.net
Cause: Requested entry not found

And when using my new email account's POP3 server, I get an error of
Could not connect to
relay.724hosting.com
Cause: Connection refused (10061)

I have authentication checked.

Can anyone offer some insight here?
If it would be easier, let me know and I can discuss this over the phone.
Thanks so much.
