Hi, David;
That’s okay. I appreciate what you did share with me regarding those talking
caller ids. I didn’t even think of buying one or getting store info yesterday,
when John and I went with his daughter and family to several Home Depots, Lowes
and Best Buys, searching for the right size upright freezer we need. We began
on South Christopher Columbus Blvd and finally found what we wanted on Oregan
Avenue. Did you know that most appliance stores sell more freezer chests and
combos, like side by sides, rather than upright freezers? They stock only two,
some of which are brands we never heard of before. Getting such an item is even
mor difficult, when it can’t exceed a specific width and length. The height
isn’t a problem. At last, we bought a May-tag sixteen cubic which is only
approximately thirty.25 inches long and will fit the space without a shoe horn.
Just thought everyone might like that info in case they ever need extra freezer
space. Take care.
Lillian

Lillian,
I didn't look at the specs very closely but it appeared to be just a dedicated
caller ID unit which, presumably, allows you to connect to a landline. There
are phones with built-in talking caller ID features. We used to own one but the
voice on it was so bad it made the Echo synthesizer sound eloquent, by
comparison. I also don't know what type of speech is available in the Emerson
unit from Amazon, either.

Hi, David;
Thanks. Is it a free-standing unit one can attach to any landline, or is a
phone included? I’m guessing by the price no phone is included. If that’s the
case, I may consider purchasing one for each of my phones, provided there’s a
way to connect them directly. Thanks. Take care.

I would suggest that you get a talking caller id. It would be worth spending
the money on it in the long run. I will find out where my companion got it from
for me last Christmas, and how much it cost.

Hi, Folks;
I get all manner of ad calls insisting I called certain numbers relating to
medical equipment which I didn't. I have a very strict policy regarding anyone
who doesn't speak the second after I pick up and say hello. I say "Speak up now
or I'm hanging up" Then I hang up if nobody speaks by that time. I don't have
caller id. I would get it but my companion insists it's not necessary. Anyway,
I certainly will report a call like you got if I get one. Glad it didn't cause
you any problems. Take care. .

Good afternoon everyone,
We've received similar calls ourselves. We told them we were going to get the
Texas Attorney General on the line and they can explain it all to his/her
officde. The call abruptly ended.

the mumber, and I called the legitament number to the real micro soft
