Hi, Kim.
Thanks for your perspective on Audible. While it's true that many books
are eventually offered on BARD there are many books which I've found on
Audible that BARD will likely not offer. I had also forgotten that
membership does allow for a certain amount of unused credits to carry
over into the next month if you haven't read your allotted number of
books. Being the voracious reader that you are I suppose that this
doesn't happen to you. <smile>

David,
I have been an audible subscriber for many years at the slightly higher level of 19.95 per month. This level allows me to purchase two books regardless of the cost at the listed price. Most titles list for at least 20 dollars so the subscription is a good deal: I have gotten several titles under my subscription that listed for 35 or even more.
Having said that, these days many commercially available titles are coming to the NLS program, so if you're willing to wait and see then free is always better even than cheap. But since I am a voracious reader whose patience is not long, audible works really well.
I hope this helps.

Hi. I have found several books from Audible that I'm considering purchasing. I've done some research on the benefits of membership, which I gather is around $14.95 per month. However, if I only buy one book a month and the books cost less than the price of a monthly membership I'm trying to figure out if paying for the membership is worth it. I gather that one of the benefits of membership is that you can return a book you might not like and substitute it for another. I'm also assuming that monthly membership allows you to purchase one book which costs more than $14.95? I'd be interested in hearing any feedback from those of you who are subscribed to Audible.
