Okay, I'm even thriftier (or more miserly) than you guys. I have a
slate with a dymo slot and I find it perfectly satisfactory. I think
that, by the time you roll the labeler around to the letter you are
looking to imprint, you could as quickly write it with the stylus.
But that's jut me.

labeler. Personally, there is no way I'd spend $750 on such a device.
I have fond memories of the dymo labeler. I used it during my teen-age
years to label tons of record covers and tape cases. I also used to own
a one-line slate, which was designed for dymo tape. I also heard that
there was an add-on which you could purchase for a Perkins Brailler
which would allow you to use your Brailler to type on a roll of dymo
tape but I never saw or owned one.
Regarding Braille labelers, Amazon sells one from Reizen for around
forty dollars.

I believe the latter also sells labels that are slightly bigger that one
could put in a regular slate not a single line one affording you the use
of perhaps more contraction use and more information which could fit on
the labeling surface.

Really? This feels like it comes right out of the bad old days of tech
aimed at the blind market. How many blind people can reasonably afford
that kind of money to create labels? I have a good job with a good salary
and I couldn't justify that kind of expense for a labeler.
Now that my little rant is done, I am actually looking for an easy
labeling solution. I recall from years ago a sort of "label gun" that
embossed braille on dymo tape. I haven't seen one in years, but I think
something like that may be what I'm looking for to label spice jars and
containers before I stick them in the freezer. Do you know if anything
like the label gun is still available and where I might get one?
I have one of those single line slates, but it is just too slow and
cumbersome to do quick labeling in the kitchen.
