Carl,
Yes, but the sad thing is that even if I could physically do more, I'm feeling
like it wouldn't change much. Chris Hedges says you do it because it's the
right thing to do, regardless of whether it will actdually work. But how much
effort should one put forth if it feels futile? I suppose the minister in him
thinks that no good deed is futile.
On another note, when I was listening to Useful Idiots a few weeks ago, they
had had someone from a podcast about Jeffrey Epstein. I'd tried to find it but
had heard the name incorrectly. I read the name of the podcast today and found
it. It's Trueanon. Because I'd read some really complicated articles about the
background, I was interested in the podcast. It started when Epstein was
arrested and I listened to the first episode today. The story of the
background, the people with whom he was involved, and the possible plots and
interrelationships is complicated and fascinating, like reading a suspense
novel. William Barr's father ran the Dalton School, which is a very expensive,
fancy girls school in Manhattan. The daughters of important people have
attended, like Leonard Bernstein's daughter, for example. Jeffrey Epstein was a
college dropout, but Barr hired him to teach at the school. The father of one
of his students ran Lehman Brothers, and he hired Epstein away from the school
to work for the investment fund. That's one tiny piece. Why would someone hire
a college dropout to teach at a prestigious girls' school? Why would the head
of a hedge fund then hire him? There's a great deal more.

Miriam,
In my later life I've been able to step back from feeling that I should be
doing something when there is nothing I can do.
My sense of curiosity holds my attention, but I don't feel either helpless or
responsible. Sure, I do what I can do, mostly in the area of work with the
blind, and seniors . Even knowing that my efforts won't make a difference, and
what I have done will be undone a dozen times over, nonetheless, I do what I
can for the personal benefit.

Well now, if you're going to go getting ill, just over a little murder
and mayhem, I'll try only sending "Good News"...like...uh...like...I
know there's a good news story out there somewhere.

Yes well, Adam Schiff began the hearings the other day with a

makes me furious and ill!
