In my later life I've been able to step back from feeling that I
should be doing something when there is nothing I can do.
My sense of curiosity holds my attention, but I don't feel either
helpless or responsible. Sure, I do what I can do, mostly in the area
of work with the blind, and seniors
. Even knowing that my efforts won't make a difference, and what I
have done will be undone a dozen times over, nonetheless, I do what I
can for the personal benefit.
