Miriam, not too different from what is going in occupied territories of Ny City
such as the south Bronx and Brownsville Brooklyn.

Violence tends to breed violence and it goes on and on. Just take a look at the
wars going on. Example: Look at the Palestinians in the West Bank right now.
They are living in occupied territory and they have watched Israel take more of
their land and homes and imprison, injure, and kill more of their people every
day with no real protest from other nations. So some very angry young
Palestinians now feel like there's nothing to lose and they've started
stabbling Jewish settlers and soldiers. The result has been that Israel is now
injuring and killing them at an astounding rate and has put into place, even
more measures of repression. Everything that has been done to the Palestinians
since the Zionists began taking their homes even before 1948, is wrong, so I
certainly understand their wish to fight back. But it hasn't helped them when
they do so. I wouldn't like to see a similar fate befall people here.

Well,
The way I see it, the one percent (or at least most of them will refuse to give
up even one more penny of their wealth. Thus, civil war will mean at a minimum
that enough of us have tried to put up a fight rather than act as sheep and
wealthy wanabees.
Given a choice betwene ever-increasing income inequality and civil war, I'll
take civil war.
I sure do hope there is a third way, but I fear there is not. Perhaps my
negative and cynical view could change if we ever decided to get big money out
of politics.

You're favoring civil war and chaos? What makes you think things will then be
resolved as you wish?

Hi Miriam,
Good post here.
Message to carl. If we could ever get more of the one percent to act as those
featured in this article I do believe that capitalism could be saved.
Seems to me that the only other alternative is likely to be some sort of civil
war, chaos, violence, etc.
I must say that the bad behavior of both the majority of the wealthy along with
it's lackey government pushes me into favoring the second option.
