Carl,
I was just thinking about you and all of the political stuff I read and listen
to, as I read this book, Born A Crime by the guy from The Daily Show who is
biracial and was born in South Africa. I got to the point in the book where he
writes about the Dutch India company and colonialism, and the diamonds found in
South Africa. Then I thought about the Egyptians and the Roman empire. And you
know what I think the problem is? It's human nature, it's greed and the need to
dominate. People set up systems, and almost all of the time, whether it's
Soviet Communism or old fashioned western colonialism or our American empire
with its late stage Capitalism with versions in Brazil, China, Russia, etc.,
you've got human acquisitiveness at the heart. Can people be organized to set
up and maintain a system that can control human greed?

Miriam,
I'm convinced it will not change as long as we have profit as our bottom line,
rather than people.
Right now it seems to me that there is no "gumption" in blind people...maybe
not in the entire Working Class.
But after a while it will turn around for a few years...

I read part of it. It's depressing and it's no surprise. Lighthouse

everything else?
