Today(Friday, September 22, 2017) Flashpoint has a program well worth
hunting down and listening to. The topic is Propaganda. The examples
are focused on how Americans have been conditioned by Israel's
constant hammering against Palestine. In case there might be someone
on this list who still believes that the American Empire's Media tells
the Truth, give this Flashpoint a listen. How many ways have we had
our English language turned against us?
How do we make sound, rational judgements when the information fed to
us is contaminated with untruths?
In the Rehabilitation Programs we hear over and over the term,
Informed Choice. Of course I just shake my head whenever some
Vocational Counselor tells me that they make certain that all of their
clients have informed choice. At best it is "conditional choice". We
have called clients, Participants and Partners, in the past, trying to
emphasize to them that they have an equal share in their
rehabilitation process. But of course they can't have any such thing.
Not when the only information comes to them, filtered through their
Counselor.
The same thing applies in any decision we make in our daily life. We
are trusting various sources for the information we need to make the
right choices.
Of course, for many Americans, the answer is to commit to one
"Fearless Leader" and follow him mindlessly. These are the
"Trumpers". They are not stupid people, they are probably, at worst,
politically lazy. "My mind is made up, don't confuse me with facts".
It's past time that the Working Class and its imaginary Middle Class,
get off the sidelines and back into the game.
