What I thought was that in spite of their striking similarities: close ties
to big banks and other financial interests, support of the Iraq War, support
of US wars in general, support of bills that caused mass incarceration of
black and brown people, folks do not have as negative response to Joe as
they do to Hillary. He projects this benign paternalistic image while she is
seen as unpleasant and overly assertive. Why is that? Why do people think
he's electdable? Solely because he's a man. A woman with the same political
negatives is disliked more than a man.
