Take those unused syringes to your nearest free clinic, Roger. Or find another
diabetic who could use them. I inherited a box that had been unopened that was
left by my stepson, and it went to a needle exchange for addicts. As long as
each is inside its protective plastic bag there's no problem with them being
used by someone else.
I keep receiving the larger and longer needles for my insulin pens, and the
nearest free clinic makes certain they get to their patients who have trouble
coming up with money to purchase them at a pharmacy. I have learned to purchase
my own, as the smallest and finest ones aren't carried by the Naval Hospital
pharmacy where I get most of my diabetic supplies. As needlephobic as I am, I
won't use anything but the nano-points, both for the needles and for my blood
testing.
