I listened to that statement that Bernie made on Sunday, first from a video in
a Common Dreams article, and then in full, on Democracy Now this morning, and
what I think I heard was Bernie stating clear differences with Biden, but also
a pledge to fight Trump, even if that meant, once again, supporting the
Democratic Party. And my only explanation for that would be that he thinks it's
the most pragmatic thing to do, that there's no point in talking about longterm
goals or starting a third party when Trump is here right now. I understand the
arguments against that position, but he probably does, also.

Conditions change, and I'm not the most reliable source of accurate
predictions. But if Bernie does "unite" with Joe, in order to defeat Donald
Trump, then Bernie's word is worthless. I have no complaint with Bernie
calling Joe his "good friend". I have good friends with whom i disagree
politically. But none of them could get me to support their political
positions. Even if it ended our friendship.

But one of the criticisms that his supporters have had of him, is that
he refused to attack Biden. He felt that Biden was his friend when he
was a new congressman and few people accepted him. They felt that if
he had pointed out Biden's terrible history on civil rights, women's
rights, the Iraq war, and economic issues, Biden never could have been
resurrected by the party leadership. Bernie actually started to do it
the other night at a rally, but it was already too late. He's never liked
ttacking people.

From my position as the second worst political predictor, I think
Bernie will not go to bat for Joe. Throwing in with Hilary Clinton
was a political smart thing to do, assuming he did think he could be around
in four years.
But this is Bernie's last hoo rah, and to turn around and hug Joe's
political positions after so many long years of taking so many of them
on, would be a straight sellout.
Bernie Sanders will take his lumps and stand next to Ralph Nader, and
the Ghost of Henry Wallace.
As far as I'm concerned, joining up with Joe Biden would be a sellout
to the Establishment. Supporting Bernie Sanders, for me, is as far
toward the Left edge of the Establishment as I am able to go.

Do you think that once again, Bernie will just give in and support

yup. Sounds like just the kind of president the Ruling Class could
learn to love...and manipulate.
Besides, that was the sort of attitude folks had toward Donald Trump.

But I don't see how Biden can win, not unless they don't allow him

presidential nomination, getting numbers confused, trying to recite
part of the declaration of independence and getting it wrong, etc.

I'm not so sure that the Democratic Party believes that Biden will lose.
But even if he does, the ACE(American Corporate Empire)can't lose.
A Biden presidency will be very acceptable, especially if there is a
Republican majority in the Senate. My own opinion is that the GOP
would be willing to set out 4 to 8 years, allowing the more
conservative judges settle in, and allowing the public to adjust to
the reduced social services, and finally, to allow the Democrats to
take the blame for the mess left behind by Donald Trump and his
Merry Band of Tricksters.

Today's episode of Intercepted describes all of Biden's liabilities
as an opponent to Trump. I've heard much of it before, but some of
the information is new to me. What is important to note is that the
leadership of the Democratic Party must be aware of all of this and
yet, they've chosen to manipulate this primary race so that Sanders
will lose. They're even figuring out how to avoid exposing Biden to
the usual debate format because they know that his mental
incapacity will be obvious to the public in such a debate. So the
question
remains: why is the party choosing a candidate who will lose to
Trump while pretending that this is all about electability?
