After 1. Re7, taking with the Bishop 1... Bxe7 is a blunder as you pointed out
since mate follows immediately by the Queen with 2. Qc7#!
I still think Black's best hope is the line:
1. Re7 Qxe7
2. Nxe7 Bxe7

2. Qc7++
Either Re7 or Nf6 work. Which is the best move? There are several ways to
