You want all files. That's the only one that will work, because it excepts the broadest range of file types. You can use that to save or submit files in many different formats, including rtf. I always choose that when given a choice when it comes up in a dialog box. I haven't had any trouble so far.

Okay, I moved it from the desktop and made a directory. Now if I can solve
my final problem I think it will work. When I choose which file to open, on
the browse/accept page, the next tab says, "file of type". At this tab
there are three choices: all files, pictures, HTML, none of which fit. So
what can I do there?

Thanks for your patience.

Sue, I personally do not store my files on the desktop. I store them in a
particular directory I call bookshare. When I upload, the bookshare system
automatically defaults to that directory after the first time I use the
browse button to get to it. Then I arrow down through the bookshare
directory and when I get to the file I want to upload I hit the enter
key. That will probably put you back into forms mode (I use window-eyes so
that is why I say probably). Then after hitting enter on the filename, tab
once to accept and again hit enter. Wait a few minutes while the file
loads and that second page will come up where you have to specify quality
of book and such. Hope this helps.

Sue,

Are punctuation marks eliminated from the file name? I
assume the.rtf is there, since you've uploaded before
successfully, though I have occasionally forgotten to
add that when I'd been working on the book file
without the extension.
