[bksvol-discuss] taking apart a book for scanning

Hello All,
I am still on leave, and I am trying to scan a book. However, it is over 1000
pages. I lifted the cover off my scanner, and it is hard to press down on the
spine to make it flat due to the thickness of the book. Is there a way to take
it apart by hand? If so, how is this done.
