HI Lisa,

One other suggestion on this thread. Mj cuts books for me when I need to
have them done. A sighted person or blind person if you would like to try
it, can cut a book with a razor knife or carpet knife.

But yes, most office supply stores will cut them for you for a small cost.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] taking apart a book for scanning

Hello All,
I am still on leave, and I am trying to scan a book. However, it is over
1000 pages. I lifted the cover off my scanner, and it is hard to press down
on the spine to make it flat due to the thickness of the book. Is there a
way to take it apart by hand? If so, how is this done.

Lisa.
