Hi, Kim. Welcome. I do read the books page by page. Twice there were books that I really couldn't stand--too esoteric and big--and in that case I just checked to be sure all the pages were there and in order, did a spell-check, and kind of scanned the page with my eyes to catch any scannos--plus I had the spell-check on so it would underline scannos. I think that's pretty much what Jamie does, too, most of the time. But even books that I thought I might not like I've learned from or, in one case, as I scanned the page to try to eye-catch scannos I got interested in the story and went back and began reading it, and did find more scanning errors that were correctly spelled words but not in the context, like the die or lie for the. It may be inefficient from the point of view of getting a book into the collection quickly, but it's the most efficient way of getting it in in as perfect a condition as possible. When I've finished reading the book and correcting the scannos, i do a spell-check, and have caught a couple of things I missed. As you know, sometimes the brain sees things as they should be rather than they actually are. I also recheck the page numbering. I've found that when I've gotten involved in a book that maybe had no breaks I've forgotten to put one in because I was involved in the story--or I numbered two pages the same. But that's just me. I think Jamie does it differently, as I said at the beginning of this long letter. I'm so obsessive that unlike Elizabeth, I can't stop working on one book to take a break and work on another, unless it's to provide pages for someone. smile I hope that infomrs but doesn't discourage you. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. Cindy --- Kim Stenger <kstenger@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi everyone!
