I have found that making a quality report has led to the complete replacement of a book in a surprisingly short time. In that case, I do not think I would bother with a BSO. I would rather spend my time scanning something that was not in the collection.
_ _ _ "I believe in recognizing every human being as a human being, neither white, black, brown nor red. When you are dealing with humanity as one family, there's no question of integration or intermarriage. It's just one human being marrying another human being, or one human being living around and with another human being.... The worst form of a human being, I believe, is one who judges another human being by the color of his skin." To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 9:55 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] quality report or BSO?I have books on hand that I want to see if they are in the collection and their quality if they are already in the collection. Several I have checked are early additions with a fair amount of spurious characters or books that have a few issues, but would also benefit from picture descriptions. I am able and interested in improving them after some other projects, is it okay to do a BSO instead of filing a quality report?
Also, Nichole was given a book of poetry that is in the collection, I think it was a Newberry Award winner processed by one of the outsourcers, but the poem titles are not identified, nor was verse form retained. Can that be resubmitted as a BSO?
Thanks for your patience with my wanting to improve quality of books for all readers.
