Hi, Valerie.

I've had this problem a time or two with the 3600 model. First of all, it helps if the scanner is positioned in such a way that, when you open it, the lid is on the right side of the scanner. In other words, the scanner should be facing vertically, rather than horizontally.

Secondly, it's very picky about the way pages are aligned. So, if you aren't getting the page exactly lined up with the book edge, it will leave parts out of the scan. My experience has been that oversized hardcovers are easier to scan than their oversized paperback counterparts.

I hope you've found some of this helpful. If not, check the settings in what ever scanning and OCR program you're using, and see if there might be something in there you can change.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] problems with OpticBook 3600

Has anyone ever had a problem with their Optic Book 3600 not scanning part of the page? I am working on an oversized book, but I believe I have been correctly positioning the pages. Unfortunately, what is at the part closest to me, is not fully scanning. I can't figure out why if the whole bed is selected it would be missing part of the scan.

Of course this happens on a Friday night when I can't get any technical support and want to be able to scan some books. Isn't that the way it always happens?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
