Thanks Terry, hadn't realized how long it had been.
Part of that though is that I sometimes forget that replies default to
the sender and not to the list. So sometimes messages I meant to go to
the list actually went to the sender.

Go into options and down to proofing. Un-check use check grammar
in the editor. Then tab past grammar to settings and select it.
You’ll find a list of 174 items that are checked. Uncheck all of
these and ok the whole thing and spell check will work but you’ll
have to be patient.
