Hi Nancy. I, too, remember the days of putting two spaces after each sentence. However, that doesn't happen anymore. It is completely by accident if a scanning program does that most of the time, so I would replace two spaces with one. By the way, sorry! I thought I fixed all occurrences of that with the book you're proofing! -Alyssa _____ From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Nancy Martin Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2009 1:04 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] extra spaces Hi all, I hope this question will be simple. When I learned to type, I was told to put two spaces at the end of a sentence. When I'm proofing a book, should I fix it if it has only one or should I find/replace occurrences with two spaces with only one space? Boy, I'm giving myself away as a braille and audio reader. Sorry if this sounds too elementary. Nancy Martin Oklahoma
