Hi Jamie,
I don't know whether the actual degrees sign is translated into braille
correctly. But I think you are doing the right thing by putting it in by hand.
From my experience, it's not safe to assume that the braille translator will
translate those higher Ascii characters. Granted, it's been upggraded not too
long ago, but, I still think it's safer to do what you are doing.

Does the degree sign translate in the braille conversion?
If I have to hand type parts of cookbooks I just type degrees instead of
inserting a sign.
