It would be a lot of work, but what I would do with that book is skip a
couple of lines on the top of each page you wish protected,
insert a line of 2 or 3 hyphens, skip a line, insert the hypens again, and
then skip another line.
That should give the stripper plenty of material to munch upon and save
the important info.
