Glad to see you reconsider. I'd like to know is the asterisk a star which is shift key and i or is it some non-keyboard character?

I can't believe that after all this time I still have a question to ask.

re the asterisks to replace multiple line spaces. In the book I just uploaded,
rather than ask this question, I hit return after the paragraph return and put
the asterisk there.
Is that necessary or should I be putting the asterisks immediately after the
last line of the paragraph?
