I place the asterisks (shift+8)on the blank line which immediately follows
the paragraph.
The blank line is then no longer blank but contains
* * *

I can't believe that after all this time I still have a question to ask.
re the asterisks to replace multiple line spaces. In the book I just
uploaded, rather than ask this question, I hit return after the paragraph
return and put the asterisk there.
Is that necessary or should I be putting the asterisks immediately after
the last line of the paragraph?
