Hi, Meka,

Ah, it looks like we share some common interests in genres and authors.
I've enjoyed Misty's books for years, from her Valdemar stories to her urban
elves, and much in between.

As for urban fantasy, Charles De Lint, Scott Westerfeld, Laurell K.
Hamilton's Meredith Gentry books (though quite naughty), some of Raymond
Feist's stuff, all come to mind. NightWatch, by a Russian author whose name
I can't remember without looking at it, is modern ... Fantasy or
supernatural or something kind of hard to categorize.

I look forward to hearing more from you.

By the way, I'm 40, suddenly have no kids in the house, and am suddenly
trying to figure out all the little details of living alone. I haven't
quite figured out if I like it yet. I work full-time as a business analyst,
and don't volunteer as much as I'd like, so instead I send books to the
Bookshare office, and rely on Carrie's kindness to get them scanned.

Lora

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] an introduction of sorts

Hi everyone:

I am not a stranger to bookshare, except to the volunteering side of things.

I am a 27-year-old living in Washington state and I enjoy the idea of
volunteering. I have been a member of bookshare for quite some time and I
really want to give back.

I downloaded and read the manual and plan on validating my first book over
the weekend. I have been on this list for a long time, but have been quite
the lurker. I look forward to actually getting involved in this wonderful
community and forging friendships as well as gaining tips.

I'm a little nervous about my first validation, but I am excited as well. I
am a huge romantic suspense and paranormal fiction fan. I also love
fantasy, whether it be medieval or urban fantasy, the latter of which is a
genre that I am trying to find other authors.

I look forward to validating and getting to know all of you and am just
sorry that I have lurked for so long!

Meka
