Try saving the file to the new file format and then retry saving it to RTF.
You might be in luck.

Well, folks, I just finished validating "Prom Night Allthe Way." It
was a .ark file. I used OB8.0, the curse of Freedom Scientific.
Anyway, so now I'm done. I cannot save it as a .rtf file. I guess I'll
try thisnew format .obxand see if that works, but does anybody have
any ideas?
