If you have Kurzweil, use the optimize scanning feature.

I would love to scan some of my cookbooks if someone would give me some
hints on how to go about it. I have most of the current WW ones, but my Joy
of cooking is the last edition not the newest one. By the by I am a new
recruit- eager to start. Teresa

Ya know, it would be really awesome if ten or 12 people got copies of the
joy of cooking, last year's edition and worked as a team to make a copy
available on bookshare. I would be willing to be a part of this team. Any
  takers?
