Shelly, the latest 1660 driver is dated December 2002, which is only a couple of months after the introduction of 1660 on the market. Before installing a new driver, please tell me about your system: speed, memory, operating system, programs your are running in the system tray, programs you are running in the startup folder. And let us not forget USB type: do you have 2.0 or 1.1? If you have 1.1 scans in grayscale and dynamic will always stutter, no matter how fast your machine is. The good news is that a USB 2.0 card for your machine should cost only a few dollars at your local electronics store. On the other hand, it is quite possible that your machine is running out of resources. Guido D. Corona IBM Accessibility Center, Austin Tx. How do I locate the updated drivers for the Epson 1660 scanner? I want to update them, and rumor was with the new drivers it doesn't hesitate in gray scale or dynamic thresholding? Shelley L.
