The only thing I would add to Guido's book dangling message, is that a similar concept can be applied to books that when placed face down in two-page scanning mode extend beyond the top and bottom edges of the scanning bed. That is to say that there is some wiggle room, (or should that be dangle room?), depending on the width of the left and right margins. Sometimes you can line up the right edge of the book with the bottom edge of the scanner and let the left edge dangle over the top edge of the scanning bed or vice versa, and if you're really feeling wild and adventurous, you can dangle both the right and left edges just a bit and still get all the text on the scanning surface. Of course, as Guido recommends, this requires some test scanning from different parts of the book ahead of time to determine what will really work, and it also requires a little more scrutiny of the final scan to make sure that your attention didn't slip, inadvertently allowing more to dangle than is strictly prudent. Can you tell that I really, really don't like one-page scanning? Peace and Hope, Donna
