Hi, Gary, you don't have to insert stuff, but if you want it to be really
spiffy, why not take the trouble to do that so that words like fiancee,
souffle, and puree have that E acute accent. It looks very nice and it shows up
in Braille as a dot 4. Regards, Kim Friedman.

I didn't know whether they were supposed to be inserted or not.
  Thanks.

Hi, if you hit insert plus the number 4 on your computer there are signs
which you can insert into a text, especially umlaut, certain acute accents,
etc. I have a message which I can send you because the book I'm proofreading
requires certain accents. Can you write me back if you're interested. Email me
off list and I'll be glad to send this stuff your way. Regards, Kim Friedman.

My current book has accented speech with special characters being
used--umlauted as, es, and an i. Where does the manual deal with this and does
anyone just happen to know what proper handling happens to be?
    Thanks.
