Hi,
If it helps, I have been proofing for a few months and the way I
acquired people to work with was by contacting them if I had a
question on the book I was proofing and if the book was in a series,
they would ask (or I would ask) if they/I would want to proof the
book. Another way I made some relationships was by posting requests
here and someone would pick them up and put them on hold for me. The
last way was if someone posted a request on the list I would contact
the person and they would agree or tell me that someone else was
already doing it but that they would keep me in mind. So, all in all,
stay optimistic and something will come your way.
If you write me offlist and tell me the types of genres you like, I
can try to find a book that you would like and scan it for you.
