Hi Susan!

When you were trying to uncheck the checkbox or even find the item, did you
have an rtf document loaded? When I was first trying what Laurie was able
to do, I just launched Word 2010 and typed a few random characters so I'd
have some text but I was unable to find the item in the proofing tab, so I
loaded an rtf and was able to find it fine then. I don't know if it has
something to do with being in compatibility mode when an rtf is loaded,
making that item show up,or what.
