I Agree. I don't let my computer go to sleep either. :) Most because I never
woke it up correctly or couldn't tell where I was.

I have never before owned a scanner that slept, and like you, I want my maypo
now. Actually, I disliked that cereal.

Hi all,
I don't think so. However, if you keep the thing on, all you have to do is
press the horizontal button at the top of all the other oval buttons on the
panel. That's the restart button. It takes about a minute or so for it to
warm up. It's the only thing I don't like about the machine because I "want my
mapo and I want it now!". <grinning> You probably have absolutely no idea what
I'm quoting. Let me explain.
Some sixty years ago, there was a brand of instant oatmeal called Mapo,
pronounced may-po. It was maple flavored. The commercial on TV featured a
bratty little girl who whined at her mother, "I want my Mapo, and I want it
now!".
The behavior supposedly saves wear and tear on the machine. The long,
horizontal button restarts it and reconnects it. Kurzie will say, "Scanning
please wait", and it will start whirring after about a minute or so.

Hi, Folks,
I recently bought an Opticbook 3900, and I really like it.
However, it has one quirk. When I haven’t used it for a while (no more
than 30 minutes) the scanner disconnects; I hear the descending tone
that a USB Disconnect makes.
I have started simply turning off the scanner and turning it on before
using Openbook.
I just wonder if anyone with that scanner has encountered the same
issue and if there is something in settings to keep the disconnect
from occurring.
Thanks.
