Now that I know that you're using the Braille Edge that helps a lot. I own a
Braille Edge but only use it as a reading machine and simple notetaker. I've
never hooked it up to a PC as I have another Braille display for that.
The braille Edge does have in the Options menu a Braille Table option where you
can choose one of several language tables.
Spanish is one of the choices. I've played around with some of these and have
sometimes used the Netherlandic setting. Don't ask me why that one worked but
it works well for western European languages.
It's also possible however that your Screenreader may affect how special
language characters are displayed. So between Hims for the Edge and your
Screenreader people (Vispero for JAWS, for example) you should get help with
this and should get this straightened out.
Of course there could be some setting you should change in Duxbury and Don can
assure you about that.
If all this fails, write to me as a nonexpert for potential help.

Thanks for getting back. I am using a Braille Edge 40 connected to a Windows 10
laptop. I have JAWS 2020 running with DBT 12.4. I'm reading the Braille on the
display, and I need the Spanish Braille files to look like proper Spanish
Braille. It looks like the accents aren't being displayed right, along with
weird abbreviations. I've chosen uncontracted spanish braille as the DBT
template. I'll also contact Duxbury support.

Could you explain further? For example, is it accent marks that don't
show correctly? Can you give some examples so we have an idea what the
problem is. Are you using a braille display hooked up to a computer?
Speech? Are you embossing on paper?

I'm not sure if this is a Duxbury Braille translator question or
Bookshare question. I have some books in Spanish Braille from
Bookshare so I can practice reading Spanish. I know they're not being
properly displayed in DBT 12.4. Does anyone know the proper steps so
they look right? If not, do you know who I might be able to ask?
