Ahhh. Then I'll skip that one since the images are half the story. May be why
Scholastic didn't send it along, too.
Thanks for clarifying.

Hi Katherine,
At this time Bookshare scanners cannot submit books with images due to both
size and the additional need of image blocking for the images to stay in the
correct place after OCRing and uploading the files.
Best,
Madeleine

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Project I'd like to do but will need sighted
help/The Marvels by brian Selznick
Hi Everyone,
There's a book I'd like to scan, but I'd need some help. I've included a
link below to a review of it in the New York Times. It's a combination of
two storylines, one in prose and one in pictures. I can scan the text part,
but if we did it right, we should also both include the pictures for those
who can see them and descriptions for those who can't.
I have a library copy and can scan the text portion, and I'm willing to buy
a used copy of the hardcover off Amazon and send it to someone if they can
help scan the pictures and put in descriptions or scan the pictures and we
can share the book if someone else wants to describe pictures.
Anyway, it got great reviews, and it looks like a fun book. Normally, I
think we'd get it from Scholastic, but for some reason we haven't, and it's
probably because it's half pictures.
Anyone game to work with me on this?
