Hi, everyone,

I'm having trouble editing rtf files on my BrailleNote. For some reason,
the BN is not seeing parts of the book. It is missing entire sentences and
parts of pages. I know the file is not being corrupted, because when I look
at the same file in Word or K-1000, everything is fine.

The BN also shows a different size for the file than my computer does. Both
K-1000 and Word show the file to be over a meg, but my BN says it is less
than 800 K. One of my children looked at the file, and noticed nothing
unusual about the font, or anything else that might cause a problem.

A few months ago, someone on the BrailleNote e-mail list stated that the BN
simply cannot handle .rtf files, but I know that Bookshare volunteers are
successfully editing .rtf files with the BN. I'm using an mPower BT,
running Keysoft 7.5, Build 29. I have 113 mb. free on my Flashdisk, so
space is not a problem. This BN just came back from HumanWare, after having
the motherboard replaced, so theoretically it should be in good shape.

I have the same problem with this .rtf file, regardless of whether I
open it
on the Flashdisk or on the CF card. If I put the same CF card into a card
reader and open the file on my computer, it looks the way it should.

Sorry this is a little long. I would appreciate any suggestions.

TIA,
Paula Muysenberg
