Since PBS stations show different programs at different times I cannot tell you
when it is on other than in Miami a new program called "Character Studies"
begins on one of our local PBS channels. It is Subtitled "Living and Dying in
Our Town" and refers to the characters in Thornton Wilder's Play "Our Town" and
the discussion is narrated or led by Eli Wallach and includes actors and
directors who have been in the play or directed it or . . . ? This episode
includes comments by Paul Newman who was in an {the?] early production and
played the Stage Manager on stage in it only a few years ago. He may even have
directed it at one time but I am not certain.
Sounds like a great way to gain insights on the play and an intro to it if you
have not read it or seen it.
