Yep heard about last year. ----------------"If you go without playing the trumpet for one day, no one knows, two days, only you know, and more than three days without practicing, girl you better look out, because everyone will know!"

Probably those of you who listen to NPR know about this, but my daughter just sent this to me and she and I both thought it might be of interest to you.Cindy Do you know about maps for the blind? I heard a storyabout it on npr this morning. This organization up here in SF called the Lighthouse is making them - so far they have sold 15. The story was very interesting, about where in our brains we map places and what the ability to "see" a neighborhood or city does for blind people that they can't experience otherwise. You could probably hear the story or read the transcript on the npr web site. Anyway I thought you might want to pass that onto your book group in case they don't know about it yet. They have maps of the entire U.S. but said most of the requests they have received have been from people wanting to "see" what their own city looks like.To unsubscribe from this list send a blank Email to bksvol-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxput the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the subject line.
