In Pennsylvania, if the vehicle is in the public way, on the sidewalk or in
the cross walk, we have um permission to identify the color of the car by
using our cane tips.
There was a guy in Harrisburgh a few years back who if he encountered
someone in the crosswalk, would take out their head lights with his cane.
They would call the cops, and get a ticket for being in the crosswalk, or
the "Pedestrian right of way."

I live in Honolulu. I dont' know if that's considered small, but the
neighborhood where I live is small. Houses are so close we can always hear
what everyone else is doing. You're right in that I should probably take a
cane, but in the incident I was mentioning, I didn't think that even a cane
would've been the solution. There was no way for me to go around, unless I
went two-thirds way into the street. And I don't think I should have to risk
my safety because people are being dumb. Am I being close-minded here? Just
my opinion.
