Hey, Sue.Congrats on getting a scanner. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and I love it. As a new scanner, the best advice I can give is to not get discouraged when every character in your scan isn't perfect. And to ask for help. Getting help from more experienced submitters saves so much time, as opposed to fiddling with all of the scanner and OCR settings yourself.

Hi folks,I have something to tell you that is very important to me, but is off topic.Sorry to clutter up the list but I wanted to share this. Monica Willyard boought a new scanner and gave me her old one, which still works!! I am sure it will be awhile before my scans are good enough to submit to bookshare, but I am eager to learn.Additionally, when I validate books and there are pages missing, maybe I canget a print copy and supply the missing pages. I will be practicing my scanning but will continue to be a validator. Best, Sue S.
