One thing you can do: You know those ChromeVox keys? Forget them. Double-tap
the Search key (the Caps Lock on most computers) and it should say "Sticky Mode
On." Then you can just use arrows to get from one place to another. Those
keys are a royal pain! So it does have sticky keys in that respect--but only
that respect. Perhaps you should submit a feedback report asking if they
intend to include sticky keys and other accessibility features for people with
disabilities other than blindness.

It's going to take a while to get used to this. My impression out of the box
is that I'll keep my IOS devices. But you didn't hear that from another
Trusted Tester! *smile*

I will likely try to call you on Monday. I am doing a bit better today, for
the first time--but now we're heavily into food production for Easter. We'll
be ten at the table tomorrow!

Have a blessed Easter! This is my favorite and most meaningful Holy Day, since
it provides us the whole reason for being Christian!

Thanks, Sandi! I was beginning to think I was losing it. I found it
interesting it came with Braille instructions, but I am guessing it is only
through the accessibility project that happens, not every Chromebook through
Amazon etc. Do you know which model you have? I think mine is a 303C. While I
like it, without sticky keys at a minimum, it is pretty useless for me since
two keys at once is nearly impossible with my hands so bad. I go from maybe 17
wpm to under 10. Not good, no matter how responsive it is software and
hardware wise...

Not that I've seen, Valerie, though they're trying to send this thing out
like an Apple device, with no documentation--and it's thousands of times less
intuitive out of the box.

Like y'all, I got a Chromebook for accessibility testing, but it appears
they they confined accessibility to the totally blind. It is an amazing
netbook, but there is nothing for people with physical disabilities; no sticky
keys no global speech recognition, nothing... Am I missing something?

    Hi Daria,

I'll be brief here. I also just received my Chromebook. It comes with not
enough information about how to make it work!

You turn on your Chromebook by opening it up, if it's a Samsung like mine
anyway. It doesn't come with Accessibility features enabled, so the first
thing you should do is press Control+Alt+z, and wait for the voice to say
"Accessibility Enabled."

On your Braille pages is a link to the ChromeVox User's Guide online. I
used my regular computer to bring that up. I'm now online and reading mail
there, though I switched back to my usual computer to write back!

    Hope this helpes!
    Sandi
