Hi,

Yes, it was in the online portion of the application.

Thanks, Dan. I don't remember seeing that, but it is fairly standard. I
cannot find it anywhere in our correspondence, but it was probably online when
we requested participation. I had thought it was more open since it is being
discussed on other educational lists, but obviously just because it is
happening does not mean it is allowed.

Since it is OT here, it is probably better to take it private anyway.

Hi,

I hate to be a stick in the mud but...

I too applied for the accessibility testing program. However, I was not chosen.

As I recall the confidentiality agreements prohibit one from discussing them
with others not part of the program.

As such you really should not be discussing them on this or any list not
related to them.

Sorry, just trying to prevent you from getting a slap on the hand by Google.

Like y'all, I got a Chromebook for accessibility testing, but it appears they
they confined accessibility to the totally blind. It is an amazing netbook,
but there is nothing for people with physical disabilities; no sticky keys no
global speech recognition, nothing... Am I missing something?

Hi Daria,

I'll be brief here. I also just received my Chromebook. It comes with not
enough information about how to make it work!

You turn on your Chromebook by opening it up, if it's a Samsung like mine
anyway. It doesn't come with Accessibility features enabled, so the first
thing you should do is press Control+Alt+z, and wait for the voice to say
"Accessibility Enabled."

On your Braille pages is a link to the ChromeVox User's Guide online. I used
my regular computer to bring that up. I'm now online and reading mail there,
though I switched back to my usual computer to write back!

Hope this helpes!
Sandi
