It's because of the team given credit for the book that I'm asking the question. I'll check the isbns. Thanks for a great idea. ----- Original Message ----- From: Estelnalissi To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, March 06, 2009 8:25 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Murder on Monday Dear Gary, and Booksharian Friends, More than page count, the accuracy of text is what makes or breaks the reading experience, especially when you're reading for pleasure, not that I don't turn inside-out to make sure page numbers are correct when I proofread. Regarding Murder on Monday, that's the only book in the series I didn't proofread. I can tell you from experience with the others that for whatever reason, libraries tend to carry the hardback British editions as opposed to the trade paperbacks, probably because the hardbacks come out sooner. The difference in page count could be due to the fact that your wife has a different edition than the one that was scanned for Bookshare. If the ISBNs match, then the page numbers should be close, but if not, then...they could be way different. I did read Murder on Monday and noticed some mistakes I thought I would have caught if I had proofread it, but it was quite readable, and I decided not to overzealously push for a BSO. On the other hand, I'll never be the one to discourage a BSO if it really means Bookshare gets a better copy of anything! You've been a pro scanner for years. That book, Dawg Stories, you scanned, even though the book was over 80 years old and yellow with age, came out fabulously. Why don't you Check out Murder on Monday and decide if it's worth the effort of a rescan? Here's my chance to encourage anyone who's reading this to check out the Tuesday through Sunday books in the Lois Meade series. by Ann Purser. They're good cozies, and not silly. Amber has Warning at One, Lois Meade's , latest adventure well in hand, and my copy has come from Amazon, my back-up when Amber's ready for me to proofread. My library doesn't carry this series and Warning at One is so new I had to buy the hardcover, but for Lois Meade, it's worth it. It's fun to do a new book once in a while. I get more pages for the money by concentrating on older books which is why most of the books I do aren't cutting edge. Always with love, Lissi ----- Original Message ----- From: Gary Petraccaro To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, March 06, 2009 9:29 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Murder on Monday I just took a look at Murder on Monday, available from BS. The listing says over 300 pages. The paperback my wife just got from the library says 282 pages. Is that important enough to do anything about it? and what to do? Thanks.
