Yes. When you delete the header, if the page number is at the top, save it--and yes, put a blank line before and after it. If it's at the botom, leave a blank line between tex and page number and number and page break. You can use a global replace for the various forms in which the headers appear. It saves some time. Replace the header with nothing. They won't all go away at once, but it's easier than removing them one page at a time. As long as you don't say :yes" to go to the beginning you won't have to worry about removing the title or anything, but it doesn't hurt to check when you're finished with the book. Also, when you say scan from cover to cover--or there's reviews you don't have to include them.
