HI Valerie, I agree, it is nice to include as much of every book as is possible. I'm all for completeness, but if there is not a way to get pages rescanned, I'd rather not have the whole book rejected. But I do agree with you whole-heartedly, whenever possible, to include all of the book, indices, appendices, and all. I am working on emerging literacy with Nichole, and I know for struggling students, especially those with dyslexia, they will often use the index as a tool to teach students how to find things. So, even if it is not mandatory or required by BookShare's policy, it is helpful to students with physical or cognitive print disabilities to have them included. While I realize it is a little extra work, especially as someone who is often a sighted proofreader for a blind scanner, it is nice if it can be included. Just my two cents worth...
