In the case of Dragons of Autumn Twilight he created a macro so this header was consistent throughout the entire book. And yet the stripping tool took out only half the header. I validated the book so I know what the final product was like.

The reason why the stripper leaves half lines and appears to be
inconsistent is because the headers themselves aren't consistent. If
headers don't match from page to page, the stripper will have trouble
picking up a pattern. Page numbers are the only part of the header that is
allowed to be different.

When page numbers are inserted into the DAISY navgation structure, they do
not appear visibly in the text. So those of you who may have been looking
for the page numbers in the text, you were probably disappointed. The
reading tool should provide the choice of whether ou wish to hear page
numbers as you are reading along and it being visible as well. That is
something that the user agent should address and not part of the structure.

Excellent idea! This problem has been addressed
before. Hopefully the engineers are working on it. I
think most everyone said they'd like the automatic
stripper te be eliminated.

Hello Cindy and all,

I would think that instead of all of us trying to
out guess the stripper and
since in reality we are the consumers of the final
product... Have the folks
at the main office give us some A-B-C's of how the
software works and we
come up with a joint process that best server the
end users.

I've decided just to put the word header on the
first
line, skip a line and put the page number, then skip
a
line and start the text. Has this worked for
anyone?
I hadn't paid much attention to the problem,
assuming
that what I'd been doing had been preserving the
chapter titles, until Grace downloaded a book for me
and told me chapter titles and page numbers were
gone.
