I've tried everything, including one page at a time, which I had to do when
I thought it would get better, because I had to keep inserting the first or
last word of each line where it is at the spine. The book is just too tight
even with a lot of tugging and pushing and bending it. It's a library book
so I don't dare to do more to it.
