Just a quick additional note from Carrie on how to deal with repeated title/author name at the top of each page. Technically the stripper should take care of these, but she says in some cases (as is its wont) it has been known to act up. She recommends in such cases, doing a global find and replace. In order to protect the title anywhere it may appear as part of the text, when filling in the text for the program to find she inserts a few blank spaces before or after the title. (She also makes sure to protect the actual title page by adding a few random characters to the title on that page which she then removes after the global replace has been executed). If any of this is unclear please feel free to write in for clarification! All good things, Pavi Mehta Volunteer Coordinator, Bookshare Benetech 480 S. I was going to comment that your first message must have been haunted. I'm not sure what you are asking. You said: "I notice that all titles begin right at the top of the page." If it's a repeated title such as the title of the book or the author's name and it's repeated throughout, then I suspect the stripper will take care of it. Then you said: "> 6 PREFACE me- diaries, There are many such examples like this in the book shall I remove them." Could those be footnotes? If so, don't remove them. Somebody might need them. Then you asked: "by the way what is this word the dictionary didn't find a definition." What word? Finally, you said: "also Kurzweil 11 shows a lot of long dashes but when looking at the text just empty space where it says the long dash is." Believe me, K1000 is telling the truth and the long dashes need to come out as it messes up the Braille translator, I believe. Hope this helps.
